This is how Torquil looked when I first saw her. I couldn’t help noticing how fantastic her lines were and what a shame it was to see her deteriorating.
We bought Torquil in 2017 with the aim of restoring her to her post war refitted condition. Part of what is so special about Torquil is that the vessel continued to make history after the war and so by restoring her as a yacht rather than returning to wartime specifications we are preserving that history.

In the future I hope to have a colour version of this picture, but we have a long way to go.
Up to this point most of the decks have been replaced and 2 of the 3 coach roofs have been repaired and sheathed. Once the rest of the decks have been replaced the next step will be to get Torquil out of the water to re-plank the topsides and survey the bottom.
The lift is loosely planned for 2022, if you know of any suitable yards on the south coast that would be accommodating we would be very grateful if you get in touch.
